of Introduction
Summer, 2010
Dear Junior Golfer,
We invite you to become a member of the SEVENTEENTH ANNUAL WINTERNATIONAL JUNIOR SERIES AT PINEHURST. This tournament series consists of nine 36 hole stroke play events from November through March. All events are played at the historic Pinehurst Country Club and our schedule includes six of the resort courses including the famed number 2 course which has hosted two US OPENs in the past eight years and will play host to the 2014 US Mens and Womens Open. Please take a moment to view our complete schedule and descriptions of the courses we'll play.
Our fee structure is more affordable than ever before. The membership fee is $125.00 and makes you eligible for all nine events. There are no qualifiers or any waiting list; you are guaranteed entry into any or all events.
If your primary residence is within one hundred miles of Pinehurst you may participate without staying at the resort hotel. If this is not the case, a rate of $75.00 per night, per person (double occupancy), which includes breakfast, tax and gratuity will be offered. This rate is offered to both contestants, families and their guests. Please review the accommodation sheet enclosed.
Our entry fee, per event will be $150.00 (when competing on the number 2 course the entry fee will be $225.00).
Past participants, over 1700 high school boys and girls, have gone on to the PGA Tour, LPGA Tour, Nationwide Tour, and the Duramed Tour. Over 50% of our members have participated at the collegiate level. Forty states and six foreign countries have been represented in our 14 year history.
The nine events will be managed by professional tournament directors with an emphasis on servicing our contestants. Our starters, rules officials and scoreboard operators are all well versed in their fields. Results of each event are sent to media outlets which include Golf World, Golfweek, and a multitude of golf coaches.
On each Friday before a competition, an optional practice round can be played for a fee of $30.00 per contestant. A season long point race includes members’ three best finishes and will determine our player of the year awards and the All American team selections.
We're excited about the changes we've made this year and are very much looking forward to getting to know each of you as you continue to develop your golf games. If you or your parents have any questions about the Series, please don't hesitate to contact us.
Regards,

Peter
